Understanding Anxiety in Children and Teens - A 3-Hour Deep Dive for Parents
Anxiety is one of the most common challenges children and young people experience today, yet it can be confusing, overwhelming and sometimes misunderstood by the adults around them. In this supportive and interactive three-hour session, we will slow things down together and make sense of what anxiety really is, why it shows up, and how it can look at different ages and stages.
We’ll explore how anxiety may appear in children and teenagers, including school-based anxiety, social anxiety and separation anxiety, helping parents move from worry and frustration to understanding and confidence. Rather than focusing on “fixing” anxious behaviour, this session centres connection, compassion and co-regulation as the foundations for helping young people feel safer and more secure.
You will leave with a clearer understanding of your child’s nervous system, practical ideas for responding to anxious moments, and a more hopeful sense of how to walk alongside your child when anxiety shows up. This session is ideal for parents who want to deepen their understanding, feel more equipped, and build a calmer, more connective approach to supporting their child through anxiety.

“Thank you so much for these very informative sessions. I wish I’d found you sooner. I had some really tough moments with my children, but this gave me a fresh start. Sometimes it’s not about perfect parenting—it’s about staying connected, being protective, and knowing you’re not alone.”
On this course, we will share how you can…
● de-escalate situations through regulation and connection
● raise your presence and connection with your child
● prioritise behaviours and reduce the overwhelm
● hold a safe space for your child to grow and understand themselves
● start to weave in self care and self regulation
● and most importantly how to adapt it for your child’s needs.

Working with parents in a professional capacity is an amazing job to do. I absolutely love it. It can feel a little lonely at times though, particularly if you work by yourself.
With this in mind we’ve created the Connective Family Professionals' Network. You don’t need to be an Connective Parenting NVR Practitioner to be part of it but the support advice provided will be based on these principles.
The network will provide you with a safe space to get support and help, as well as learn. It will also give the opportunity to meet others, create collaborations and share your knowledge.
If you’ve completed practitioner training then it will provide you with ongoing support.
